We all have our holiday movie favorites. For some, it’s ELF, for others it’s A Christmas Story.
We’ve dissected three holiday favorites that if characters had used an Inslip or HidInslip, their problems would have been solved before the end of the movie!
1. Elf
In this hilarious holiday favorite, Buddy (Will Ferrell) snuck into Santa’s bag as a toddler at the orphanage and was accidentally transported to the North Pole. He was raised to adulthood among Santa's elves and his adopted father, Papa Elf. After finding out he was a human and unable to shake the feeling that he doesn't fit in, the adult Buddy travels to New York, in full elf uniform, in search of his real father. As it happens, this is Walter Hobbs (James Caan), a cynical businessman. After a DNA test proves this, Walter reluctantly attempts to start a relationship with the childlike Buddy with increasingly chaotic results.
To travel to New York, Buddy “passed through the seven levels of the Candy Cane forest, through the sea of swirly twirly gum drops, and then walked through the Lincoln Tunnel.”
No one believed Buddy was a real Elf until the very end of the movie.
Where does Inslip fit in?
If Buddy had made the elves make him an IPhone, he could have attached an Inslip grip and gone on his merry way taking selfies and video for proof of his travel to New York City. He also wouldn’t worry about dropping it in the sea of swirly twirly gum drops or down in the Lincoln Tunnel!
We won’t reveal any spoilers on the ending, but let’s just say the movie did end with a happily ever after moment. So maybe he didn’t need the Inslip, but it sure would’ve helped!
2. Love Actually
This Christmas-themed romantic comedy showcases different aspects of love, as shown through ten separate stories involving a wide variety of individuals, many of whom are shown to be interlinked as their stories progress. Each story, filmed in London, begins five weeks before Christmas and is played out in a weekly countdown until the holiday, followed by their story one month later.
Where does HidInslip fit in?
In the storyline with characters Daniel and Sam, Daniel (Liam Neelson) mourns the recent death of his wife Joanna, as he tries to raise his stepson Sam alone. Struggling to bond with each other, Sam has fallen for an American classmate, also named Joanna and confides in his stepfather on how to impress her. Sam learns the drums so that he can accompany her in the big finale for their school's Christmas pageant.
Instead of learning to play the drums and coming up with an elaborate plan, he could have just gifted Joanna a HidInslip for Christmas! It’s sturdy, durable, and always has your back… of your phone. She would’ve felt supported and fallen straight into his arms!
As a reminder, we won’t reveal any spoilers in this blog, however this couple does have a cute ending! The HidInslip would have just enhanced their love.
3. A Christmas Story
If you didn’t know about the traditional 24-hour marathon of A Christmas Story on TBS, now you know.
Everyone remembers that one gift you really wanted as a child. A gift that you begged your parents for, and wrote to the North Pole about.
For 9-year-old Ralphie, it was a Red Ryder Range 200 Shot BB gun. When he mentions this to his parents, they immediately say he’ll shoot his eye out. He gets denied, and comes up with sly ways to convince his parents to get him the gift of his dreams.
While he does get the gift, he **oops, spoiler alert*** does shoot the BB gun and ultimately hits his eye and breaks his glasses.
Where does HidInslip fit in?
If he had asked for a HidInslip, he wouldn’t have shot his eye and broken his glasses. He wouldn’t have had the stress of convincing his parents for the gift. Last, he could have kept his valuables in the HidInslip and saved up for the BB gun for when he was older. Problem solved!
